6 golden rules for fitness success. (To be honest there are lots but hopefully you get the message) Here they are:
1. Practice gratitude and thanks for all the amazing ways your body shows up for you. Not only for what it looks like. 2. Chase your strongest self. Not your smallest self. Focus on building muscle. Not fat loss. 3. Your smallest is not necessarily your healthiest or strongest. 4. Consistency is not about perfection
5. It’s going to take longer than you think or want.
6. It’s ok to be different. It is ok to fail.

I started as a PT in 1993 and the mantra back then was fat is the enemy, cardio was king and both in large quantities. Here's a few more: No Pain, No Gain MentalityThere was a strong emphasis on pushing through pain and enduring gruelling workouts. Spot Reduction Myths. There was a widespread belief in spot reduction. Less Focus on Strength Training (Especially for Women). Today we have a much more holistic approach which encompasses strength training, cardiovascular exercise, flexibility, and mental well-being. An emphasis on Functional Fitness with exercises that mimic real-life movements, improving overall functionality and quality of life. Strength Training for Everyone. Strength training is now widely recognized as essential for people of all ages and genders, for its benefits in building muscle, improving bone density, and boosting metabolism. There is also a greater emphasis on mindfulness, stress management, and the importance of adequate rest and recovery. The fitness industry is moving towards greater inclusivity and body positivity, promoting health and well-being at all sizes. There's a stronger emphasis on evidence-based practices, with fitness professionals relying on scientific research to guide training and nutrition recommendations. It only took a few decades to change the narrative. .
